Why the home matters
Basement and utility-room access, existing water piping, drain route, electrical or fuel arrangement, venting, household use, and seasonal occupancy can all change a water-heater installation. The site plan should fit what is actually present in the home.
What homeowners should know
Share the current water-heater type, where it is located, what you want to improve, how hot-water demand has changed, the energy source if known, and any known access limitation. If the current unit is leaking, has no hot water, or seems unsafe, include that condition first.
